Cloud Nails Plus A Swatch!

Hey guys! Sorry about the lack of posting, I've been super busy with school, homecoming, and just life in general. But, I do have for you guys, a lovely swatch of a gorgeous polish and some adorable nail art to top it with!

First, is my swatch of Revlon's Dreamer. This color was gorgeous in the bottle and on my nails. I did around two coats and used my regular base and top coat. The color was completely opaque in two coats, which is awesome for a baby blue like this one. On the first coat, it looked like it would need three or four coats, but the second coat completely erased any patches and streakiness the first coat had. Now for nail art!

To go on top of this gorgeous swatch, I did some simple clouds because they seemed very fitting for this color. To start, I applied a layer of base coat and did two coats of Revlon Dreamer. When the base color was completely dry, I used a large dotting tool and some white acrylic paint to create some fluffy clouds. When everything was dry, I applied a fast dry top coat to seal the design.

Camouflage French Tip Nails

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in while. Like I mentioned on Instagram, I recently started school so I've been busy with that, and sadly I broke my phone. Good news though, I got a new one! Since I got my new phone, I should be posting regularly now, which means almost everyday or every two to three days. Now for today's nails! I have some cool camo nails with a bright orange French tip for you today! These were super fun to do and also something I hadn't done before. Enjoy!

To start this fun mani, I applied my brand new base coat and two coats of a tan polish. After my base color dried, I used various acrylic paints and polishes to create the camouflage splotches on my nail bed. When the splotches were completely dry, I applied a fast dry top coat and then used a white polish to create a thick, straightedge French tip. When the white polish was dry, I went over the top of the white only with a bright orange polish. After everything was totally dry, I applied one last layer of top coat to seal everything in.

Minion Grid Nails

Today's post was completely inspired by @dutchnailss Minion nails that she did back in July. As soon as I saw these, I knew I had to recreate them. These were so much fun do to and really easy.

I started by first applying base coat, painting my middle and ring finger blue, and painting my index, thumb, and pinky a light yellow color. After applying two coats of each color and waiting for them to completely dry, I used Scotch tape cut into thin pieces to create a grid pattern on my blue nails. Using a dotting tool with black, white, and yellow polish, I filled in the squares, making sure each color was in a diagonal line. Make sure you remove the tape before the polish dries. When the squares were dry, I used silver, black, and white polish to create the goggles on the Minions. After everything completely dried, I applied a fast dry top coat to seal the design.

Black and White Nails

Today I have more nail art (obviously) and a new nail length! I decided to chop off my nails because my long nails were getting in the way. I had to extra careful taking out and putting in my contacts because of the poking hazard. To trim my nails, I marked where I wanted to cut with white acrylic paint and then used some nail trimmers to cut just above the the line. Then I used a nail file to smooth the cut edge and shape my nails square. Onto the nail art!

To start this simple mani I applied base coat and then painted my index and pinky fingers white, my middle finger black, and my ring and thumb gold. I then applied a top coat to my white nails and let it completely dry. Using Scotch tape I cut into thin strips, I applied them horizontally across my nail and painted over them with black polish. Immediately after applying the black polish, I removed the tape and corrected any imperfections. On my middle nail I used white acrylic paint and dotting tool to create rows of dots. Lastly I applied a single black dot near my cuticle on my ring and thumb nails. Once everything was completely dry, I applied a quick dry top coat to seal the design.

Bridal Lace Nails

Today's nail art is bridal lace nails. These, at least I think, are the best lace nails I've ever done and I was super proud of them when I was done. Read below for a tutorial.

To start this gorgeous mani, I applied a layer of base coat to protect my nails. I then applied a coat of a light baby pink. I like Sally Hansen's "Tickled Pink" because the formula is very opaque for such a light color. After the pink layer was dry, I used white acrylic paint and a detailing brush to create some floral-looking lace shapes in two opposite corners of each nail. in between those, I painted a diamond netting pattern with dots in the centers of each section. When everything was dry, I applied a fast dry top coat to seal the design.

Simple French Tips

I know that there are a million French tip nail tutorials out there, but another one can't hurt. Today's nails are simple bright white French tips! For me, this is the longest my nails have been in a long time, so I decided to do these to see how long my free edge really is. Now, my nails are stained and that's quite obvious from the slight yellow tint you can see above the white, but it doesn't bother me and I don't really care what color they are(as long as they aren't stained green or blue or something). The only reason the staining is visible, is because I didn't apply a sheer pink on top. Now for nails!

To start this super simple and chic manicure, I first applied a layer of base coat to protect my nails. When the base coat was completely dry, I used a hole reinforcement sticker to create the perfect smile line. After applying the sticker, I used an opaque white polish and covered my entire free edge, wrapping the tip to prevent any premature tip wear. I then peeled the sticker off immediately and waited for the white polish to dry. After all my nails (my left hand because I rarely paint my right hand) were dry, I applied a fast dry top coat to seal the design. 

Birthday Nails!!!

Hey guys! The nail art I'll be showing you today is a mani I did a few days ago for my brother's fourth birthday. Even though he didn't really seem to care when I showed him, I still thought they were super cute!

To start my mani, I first applied a layer of base coat. I really should have used a peel off base coat since I used glitter polish, but I forgot here and paid for it later. After my base coat dried, I applied a thick, messy French tip on my middle and ring nails to act as the cupcake liner. While those nails were drying, I painted a white base on my index and pinky nails. Going back to my middle and ring nails, I used a striping brush and light teal acrylic paint to paint on some evenly spaced lines over the messy French tip. As I waited for that to dry, I used liquid latex around my cuticles on my index and pinky fingers to minimize cleanup.

After the latex dried, I used two different teal colors and a makeup sponge to create a gradient. I then applied a thin layer of top coat to smooth the gradient and peel off the latex. On my middle and ring fingers, I used white polish and a large dotting tool to create the top of the cupcake. When that dried, I took a small detailing brush and a picked small pieces of glitter out of a glitter polish to make sprinkles. I used the same polish on top of the gradient. Lastly, I painted a small heart on top of the cupcakes and applied fast dry top coat to smooth seal the design.

Tropical Floral Nails

Today's nails were inspired by Lindsey from @wondrouslypolished. I loved the print that she did and decided to recreate it. I loved how these nails turned out and I hope you do too!

To start this gorgeous mani, I applied a base coat and two coats of a royal blue polish. I then took teal acrylic paint with a detailing brush and painted on some large leaf shapes. After that dried, I used dark orange and magenta polished to draw on some flower shapes. When the flower shapes dried, I used bright orange and red polish to add some dimension. I added some white dots to the centers when the detailing was dry. I then added some neon green leaves for a pop of color. After everything completely dried I added a fast dry top coat to seal the design.

OPI Princess's Rule

No nail art today because I couldn't get anything to turn out well, but I do have a beautiful swatch for you guys! This is my swatch of OPI Princess's Rule. On the first coat it is a beautiful shimmery pink that is sheer. When I was applying the first coat, there were no visible brush strokes. Although it took three coats to build up the semi opacity, one coat would be gorgeous for a French Tip with a sparkly base. Overall, the formula is great and in three to four coats you'll get a beautiful shimmery pink color.

Ice Cream Drips

Today I was inspired by @cutepolish and her ice cream drip nails. These were so fun and simple to do! Instructions will be below. :)

To start this easy mani I applied base coat to protect my nails from staining. I then applied two coats of a baby pink polish. 

When my pink base dried, I used a large dotting tool and brown polish to create large spots as the base of the drips. While I waited for those to dry, I used the polish brush to swipe a strip of brown across the tip of my nail. I then used a small brush to connect and fill in the drips.

When the drips dried, I used blue, purple, pink, and yellow acrylic paint with my detailing brush to draw sprinkles randomly all over the drips. After everything completely dried, I applied a fast dry top coat to smooth and seal the design.

Donut Half Moon Mani

Today's manicure is a half moon mani with donuts inspired by the talented @dutchnailss on Instagram! This nail design was so cute, I wanted to recreate right away but had to get some new brushes first because my last detailing brush succumbed to death by acetone.

To start this mani I applied base coat like always. When that dried, I applied two thin coats of a sheer pink polish. After waiting for my base color to completely dry, I took my new detailing brush with tan polish and drew a half donut shape at the base of  my nail. After filling that in and letting it dry, I used a pink polish to go over that but leaving the edges of the tan visible. I also added drips to fill in the empty nail space. When the pink dried I used my detailing brush again with light pink,blue and yellow acrylic paint to create sprinkles all over the frosting. After everything completely dried I applied a top coat to smooth and seal the design.

Cartoon Zombie Nails

Today's post has a load of groaning cuteness! By that I mean cartoon zombie nail art! I was once again inspired by the talented @jauntyjuli. When I saw these I knew I had to recreate them, they were so cute! 

To start this adorable manicure I applied base coat as always. I then used a neon green polish and applied two thin coats. After the base color completely dried, I used a small brush and pink acrylic paint to draw and fill in a lumpy shape in the upper right-hand corner of my nail. While that was drying, I used black acrylic paint and a large dotting tool to create two oval eyes and a lopsided mouth shape. The pink was dry by this point, so I used a detailing brush and red and black acrylic paint to give texture to and outline the brain shape. I then used brown acrylic paint to draw some random scuffs and bruises on the zombie. Lastly, I used a dotting tool, a detailing brush, and white acrylic paint to finish the eyes and draw some jagged teeth. Once everything was dried completely, I applied a layer of fast dry top coat to seal the design.

Floral Leopard Print

The nails of the day are a floral leopard print! For this mani, I was 100% inspired by @jauntyjuli.

The blue color that a used as my base color was Sally Hansen's Blue Me Away! stained my entire nail bed. I would recommend using two coats of base coat when using this color to prevent any staining that could get through. Now onto the topic of this post, the nail art!

I'm not going to do an entire walk through of how I did this mani because it took forever, but I'll give you guys an outline of how I did it.

To start I applied base coat to protect my nails from staining (which obviously didn't work) and then applied two thin coats of Sally Hansen's Blue Me Away!. When that had dried, I took a small detailing brush with black and light blue acrylic paint and created a leopard print towards the tip of my nail. I applied a fast dry top coat when that had dried to smooth out the surface for more nail art.

After letting the top coat completely dry, I used a medium dotting tool, a detailing brush, white, purple, black, and mustard colored acrylic paint to create several flowers on each nail, varying the placement. To create the thin lines on the daisies, I used watered down black paint and a thin striping brush to draw thin, wavy lines. When everything was completely dry, I applied a fast dry topcoat to smooth the surface and seal the design.

Dragon Scale Nail Art

Today's nails are dragon scales!! These particular nails were inspired by Game of Thrones: House of Targaryen. I don't personally watch Game of Thrones but I loved the way that these turned out. 

To start this manicure, I first applied base coat to protect my natural nails from staining. I then applied ONE coat of a blood red polish, I used Revlon Red from Revlon. After my base color completely dried, I used a makeup sponge and two red polishes to create a gradient effect. The polishes I used were my base color from before and a darker red called Bewitching from Revlon. I also used liquid latex from Amazon for easy cleanup.

When my gradient was done, I put on a thin coat of quick dry top coat and waited until it was dry. After my topcoat was dry, I took a small detailing brush with black acrylic paint and drew small scale shapes starting from the free edge of the nail bed. When all five nails were completed, I took a small dotting tool with a red glitter polish and placed glitter polish randomly into the points of the scales. After everything was dry, I applied two coats of quick dry top coat to smooth out the glitter and seal my design.
